In the early morning, the milky white of the fog will bring a mystical side to your journey. As the day rises, the white of the mist will give way to the red of the earth and the green of the rice fields. To this are added the yellow fluorescent fabrics worn by women and the various shades of men's clothing. The contrast between the colors is a wonder without equal for your eyes...

Day 3

Visit of Ambositra and departure for Ranomafana

Explore the sublime city of Ambositra. Mountainous landscapes, rice terraces, irrigated by ingenious networks of canals, small wooden houses... you will have the impression to have set foot in a remote place, with ancestral decorations. A real change of scenery! The city is especially known for the know-how of its craftsmen. Take a tour of their premises and discover how they sculpt their products (objects made of precious wood and zebu horns). This know-how has been recognized as intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO. In the afternoon, direction Ranomafana! At destination, go to the National Park for your first night visit of the site

Day 4

Visit of Ranomafana National park

Immerse yourself in the heart of Ranomafana Park, the ideal place for a brief escape into nature. Classified World Heritage, you will be served with a panoply of endemic fauna and flora (many species of birds, amphibians, butterflies, reptiles and lemurs). Brighten your eyes with a close look at the different species of orchids, carnivorous plants, tree ferns and palm trees in the park. Feeling a little peckish ? You are free to choose your glade near a waterfall or cascade to quietly enjoy your lunch in the midst of nature.

Day 5

Journey to Ranohira

The road continues to Ranohira. The trip will be long, but don't worry! A few stops will make the trip pleasant. A visit to a village park is planned. Singular, curious, instructive... there are many adjectives to describe this place. A stand of maki has heeled in this park. Immortalize your encounters with the lemur with the striped tail by photos at will! A stop at an antemoro paper and wild silk workshop will follow. Antemoro" paper is often used for invitation cards at Malagasy weddings or other ceremonies; it is typically Malagasy. Let yourself go and discover how the artisans of the factory make their masterpieces. Do business with them by buying one or two souvenirs, and learn to bargain with artisans to collect beautiful items at an attractive price.

Day 6

From Ranohira to Beronono

A good energetic breakfast is required for this full day, so treat yourself before you leave Ranohira. Are you a fan of new experiences? On your mark, get set and go... to the Isalo massif. The exploration of this imposing ruin-shaped massif is on the agenda. Play pioneers on the savannah with baobabs and tamarind trees. fill your camera's lens with souvenir photos! Then continue up to the Mangoky River. From there, you will sail peacefully on the river aboard a motorized ferry to cross the river. Amaze your taste buds by savouring delicious dishes in a nearby village restaurant. You need strength to resume the walk towards the village of Beronono where a night under the stars awaits you.

Day 7

From Beronono to the top of the Isalo massif

Put on your sandals! The day starts with a trek in the bed of the Makay River, feet under water. It continues in the shade, through the large tropical forests. In Madagascar, there are not only landscapes to contemplate, there are also caves including that of Mahatiny. This one having served as shelter or lodging for the villagers of yesteryear. Take a short break to refresh yourself in the cave while admiring the 17th century cave paintings that have been carved there. Hurry back to the track, because what awaits you at the top of the Isalo massif will dazzle you. Stand by - and your camera - ready, the views here are exceptional. Who knows, you might be able to capture the $1,000 shot. At nightfall, enjoy a peaceful night in a bivouac along the Makay River.

Day 8

Crossing the Ambinanitelo canyon

An uncommon awakening is reserved for you, between the dew which is deposited on the fresh grass, the light which crosses the leaves of the trees but especially the freshness of the morning. After breakfast, go to the Ambinanitelo canyon to start your day. An ascent to the summit is required to discover the ridge and the plateau of this massif. To your cameras, a superb view on the lake of Nosilahy is a landscape to immortalize at any price.

Day 9

Exploring the canyons of Nosilahy and of Sakamanitra

In the early morning, the freshness of the morning and its morning dew will wake you from your sleep. Then immerse yourself in the gorges of the Nosilahy canyon in the heart of which streams flow. These shelter fish, giant eels and on their banks live species of small bats. Do not be afraid, Malagasy bats do not attack man, their prey are ladybirds, butterflies and flies. After your moment of discovery along the rivers, move from one canyon to another because that of Sakamanitra is just as beautiful as that of Nosilahy.

Day 10

Your Plan

Spend the tenth day visiting Lake Sariaka. You won't regret it! You will surely encounter large migratory waterbirds that are endemic and have made the lake their nesting place. Lucky as you are, you can probably admire freshwater turtles that spend their lives near the lake. To have an impressive photo on lakes Sariaka and Nosilahy, do not hesitate to climb up the mountains of the site.

Day 11

Return to Ranohira

Devote this day to return to the city of Ranohira. On the way, the vast expanses you will cross, the narrow canyons with strange shapes you will discover and in the tropical forests you will sink. Enjoy, it's your adventure!

Day 12

Exploring The Isalo park

o travel to Ranohira without going to Isalo Park would be a mistake. Don't forget to go there! A hike through this botanical garden sheltering a wild and endemic nature will transport you in a whole other universe: the Malagasy western. Admire the impressive canyons at an altitude of 1,240 metres and the enormous rocks surrounding the park's sites. The Namaza Canyon is a must. Although the course is quite sporty, it is worth it. Let yourself be charmed by the splendid view of the mysterious Nymphes waterfall and the "blue and black swimming pool". Enjoy a picnic in the park at lunchtime. We advise you, before the sun sets, to head towards the window of Isalo to finish your day in all beauty. Located 17 km from Ranohira, this natural sculpture opens onto a mythical setting. It is surely one of the most beautiful spots in the world where you can admire the sunset. Your eyes will shine at the sight of the landscape of deserted valleys which extends to the horizon.
